What's New in ISLSCP II

The ISLSCP II Web site and data set are changing and growing. As new data sets and documents are added, or existing ones updated, this page will list those changes and give you links to the pages. The changes are listed by date. At the bottom of this page is a table showing the unfinished data sets (as of Jan. 2004) and their current status.

What's New

December 14, 2004 -- The Snow-Free Albedo and Background VIS/NIR Reflectances data and document are now online.
November 17, 2004 -- The ECMWF Meteorology Data monthly data are now online. The 6hr-diurnal, 3hr-diurnal, and 6-hourly data are now available for FTP download through the Goddard DAAC.
November 3, 2004 -- The ISLSCP II Global Gridded Soil Characteristics data and document are now online.
October 29, 2004 -- The revised EDGAR Emission Database for Global Atmospheric Research data and document are now online.
October 21, 2004 -- The revised MODIS Albedo from 2001 data and document are now online. The revised GTS Gauge-Based Daily Precipitation data and document are now online.
October 19, 2004 -- The revised FASIR NDVI Biophysical Parameter Fields data (with a "permanent ice mask" added) and document are now online.
October 18, 2004 -- The revised Global River Fluxes of Carbon and Sediments to the Oceans data and document are now online.
October 8, 2004 -- The revised Vegetation Classification (IGBP-DIScover) data and document are now online.
October 6, 2004 -- The revised FASIR NDVI Monthly data (with a "permanent ice mask" added) and document are now online. The UNH/GRDC Composite Monthly Runoff data and document are now online. The GRDC River Discharge Point Data and document are now online.
October 4, 2004 -- The finalized GIMMS NDVI data (with a "permanent ice mask" added) and document are now online.
October 1, 2004 -- The finalized ECMWF Meteorology Data (monthly and fixed data only) and document are now online.
September 29, 2004 -- The finalized CO₂ Emissions from Fossil Fuel Burning data and document are now online.
September 28, 2004 -- The finalized HYDRO1k Elevation-derived Products data and document are now online.
September 13, 2004 -- The finalized River Routing Data (STN-30p) data and document are now online.
August 30, 2004 -- The finalized FASIR NDVI Monthly data and document are now online (updated again on October 6, 2004).
August 2, 2004 -- Updated the Global Precipitation Climatology Centre (GPCC) Monthly Precipitation data (kept the number-of-gauge maps unmasked and deleted lists of removed gauges from the "dif" files) and revised the document.
July 29, 2004 -- The GlobalView: Atmospheric CO₂ Concentrations data and document were updated to include 2003 data.
July 12, 2004 -- The GlobalView: Atmospheric CO₂ Concentrations and the GlobalView: Atmospheric Methane Concentrations both have had their documents updated.
July 2, 2004 -- The NCEP II Reanalysis Meteorology Data and the SRB Radiation Fields Data are now available for FTP download through the Goddard DAAC.
May 28, 2004 -- Updated the CRU Monthly Climatology data and the CRU Monthly Mean Climatology 1961-1990 data (with new interpolation for missing data points and "change map" files) and updated the document.
May 25, 2004 -- Updated the Global Precipitation Climatology Centre (GPCC) Monthly Precipitation data (land/sea masked the data and added "change maps") and revised the document (updated again on August 1, 2004).
May 20, 2004 -- Updated the Gridded Population of the World data (added "change maps") and revised the document. Updated the Global Gridded Gross Domestic Product (GDP), 1990 data (added "change maps") and revised the document.
May 17, 2004 -- Updated the NOAA 5-year Average Monthly Snow-free Albedo from AVHRR data (with new interpolation for missing data points and "change map" files) and updated the document.
April 22, 2004 -- Updated the Gridded Population of the World data and revised document. Updated the Global Gridded Gross Domestic Product (GDP), 1990 data and revised the document (both updated again on May 20, 2004).
March 5, 2004 -- Added the CRU Monthly Climatology data and revised document (updated again on May 28, 2004).
February 26, 2004 -- Added the Surface Radiation Budget (SRB) Radiation data. Also added the land/sea masked AVHRR Albedo and BRDF from 1995 data and document. Also added the land/sea masked CRU Monthly Mean Climatology 1961-1990 data and revised document (updated again on May 28, 2004).
February 20, 2004 -- Added the land/sea masked NOAA 5-year Average Monthly Snow-free Albedo from AVHRR data and updated document (updated again on May 17, 2004).
February 12, 2004 -- Added the Surface Radiation Budget (SRB) Cloud data.
February 3, 2004 -- Added the FLUXNET CO₂ Flux Measurements data and updated document.
